Respecting rights on MarketSongs
MarketSongs is a marketplace for original and properly licensed works. These rules protect creators, buyers and rightsholders.
What you can upload
Only upload works you own or are authorized to license. By listing a work you confirm you have the rights to sell it and its included files.
- No unauthorized covers. Don't upload covers of someone else's composition without clearance.
- No uncleared samples. Any samples must be cleared or royalty-free.
- No impersonation. Don't pretend to be another artist or rightsholder.
- Disclose AI. AI-assisted or AI-generated works must be disclosed during upload.
How to report a copyright issue
If you believe a listing infringes your rights, use the Report action on the song detail page. Include the listing, your relationship to the work, and any supporting detail.
What happens after a report
Reports are reviewed by MarketSongs admins. While a report is open, a listing may be frozen — this blocks new purchases and downloads (the download gate returns an HTTP 451) until the matter is resolved.
Listing freeze policy
Admins can freeze any listing that is under dispute, appears to violate this policy, or carries high-risk flags. Frozen listings stay in the system but cannot be bought or downloaded until they are cleared or removed.
Repeat infringer policy
Creators who repeatedly upload infringing works may have listings removed and their accounts suspended or terminated.
